Marketing jobs in the media sector have the involvement business and organisation. An example of a marketing job is a sales executive. A sales executive normally have their own company and it is their job to sell their goods or services. there are many different areas that a sales executive would work with such as: fast moving consumers goods like foods and drinks, consumer durables such as clothing, business services like web design or financial products and industrial supplies like chemicals or mechanical parts. A Sales executive main responsibilities are listening to customers, arranging meetings with potential clients, collecting market and customer information, negotiation on prices, delivery, costs with buyers and managers and closing these sales, checking the quantities of goods on display and of what is in stock, organising team meetings and looking after colleagues etc. This job would require good leadership, management and organisation skills of a high level to be successful.
A producer is also a job under the marketing area. A producer is a person that oversees the overall process of production that they are working on this may be in television, film, radio, music, video gaming etc. The producer will be there from the start as they will either get the rights to create a script or co-create a script, for example for a film, and they will then have the responsibility of finding a director to direct their film and also hiring a film crew. this also includes helping pick the right cast for the film. The producer will work closely with the director throughout the whole process of production to preserve the integrity and vision of the film. A producer needs to have a creative eye as well as have good leadership and organisation skills as they are involved in the the whole creative process whilst leading a team of people and keeping everything organised. Another job in the marketing aspect is a publicist. A Publicist's job is to manage and generate the publicity of public figure such as a celebrity or a business or for products like a film, book or album. Publicists are usually free lance and work with a multiple of clients. A publicists main responsibility is to generate press coverage for the client or coverage in any type of mass media, this may involve setting up interviews, gwtting their client to make an apperance at a certain event, selling apporiate stories to magazines or newspapers. overall just getting there client noticed and making them look good in the public eye. this job would require you being organised and having good buisness skills.
